Last week, we spent 3 days camping and hiking up in Yellowstone Park. :)
The weather was gorgeous, and I took over 160 incredibly nice photos while we were there!! I wasn't sure where to start as far as posting them here, so I am organizing them into several posts which will go up over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, I thought that I would give a preview with some highlights of the trip, using some of my favorite pictures that I took. I hope you enjoy, and please do come back over the next few weeks as I add more posts with more details from my awesome trip to Yellowstone!
For starters, of course a trip to Yellowstone means seeing many buffalo, and the ones we saw were very healthy, like this big boy:
I'll be doing a post just on the buffalo of Yellowstone soon, so stay tuned!!
These trees really caught my eye. You can see where the buffalo (and perhaps moose and elk?) rub on them:
I'll also be doing a post with some great photos of the trees and mountains. :)
One of my favorite places in the park is Yellowstone Lake, it is absolutely beautiful:

Anyway, I hope this whetted your appetite for more, so please check back here at Tetons and Beyond over the next few weeks for more in-depth coverage of our trip!!
I know you will enjoy!! ;)

What about all the people? Did you just avoid them with your pictures? Or could you really get away from them?
I'd love to be able to get someone to care for our place so Beloved and I could travel Yellowstone. We really love getting away and enjoying outdoor experiences in remote locations.
The scenery is spectacular 'tis true but the composition of the shots and the other nuances indicate you are a pretty fine photographer. Thanks for sharing.
Those are gorgeous!
Unbelievably GORGEOUS!
Wonderful. Did all of the trees fall over, or did someone chop them down. The photo with the bear. I will await a reply in the discussions.
Great photos! Yellowstone is a wonderous place to be sure.
Nice presentation, Chelle. That's quite a dramatic looking waterfall -- and of course I love the shot of the bear.

Great pictures.. I haven't been to Yellowstone since I was a kid! I would like to go visit again soon!
Hi Chelle, SOOOOO this is the bear!!?! WOW, lucky you! I also LOVED, LOVED, LOVED your photos of the bison. They are excellent and the country there is so beautiful. There are a couple that live up that way that are on Blog Catalog as well. They are Stacey and Mike (Hawk) Huston. Amazing couple. They may not be far from you. Stacey is probably about your age and is a brilliant photographer and Mike is one of the most extraordinary wildlife writers I've ever read; he has an astounding relationship with the wild....they both do in their own unique ways. You will love them. Just tell them Robin Easton sent you and that I say "hi". They are near the part too.

Your photos here REALLY gave me an idea of what it looks like up there. I've traveled all over creation but have not yet been to Yellowstone. My sister is working in one of the park stores this summer just to be there and see it all for awhile. She said it is lovely but after seeing your photos I can REALLY believe it. You did a fantastic job here Chelle. Just stunning!!!
I was blow away about the the whole death thing in terms of more people dying from bison that bears. I can't believe how stupid people are sometimes. Stacey just wrote a piece back a couple of weeks (or more) ago about a kid who was being really foolish with a bison in the park.
Well I am very impressed with what you did here. And I so appreciate you taking the time to share this. Hugs and love to you! Rainforestrobin
GREAT PICTURES AGAIN! i cannot wait to see more...keep them coming. i love that lake pic and the waterfall...amazing. Wish we had places like that here-- i now have to tell hubby that this is a place we must visit in the future.
Wicked series of images.
Tho pictures are worthy of landing in the pages of National Geographic. the views are just awesome. I have never been to Yellowstone Park but after reading your post and seeing the pictures I am planning to go there next summer.
